Singer, songwriter and actress, Erika Tham releases her beautiful stripped back performance of her recent debut single release, ‘Admit It,’. Which has so far received incredible support from Tastemakers such as Wonderland, Hollywood Life, Raydar Magazine, Azeema Magazine, The Honey Pop, Viper Magazine and Spindle and more. This brand new live acoustic rework featuring Grammy- Award winning record producer Brian Kennedy brings a whole new vibe and energy to the track, with a more slowed down, piano ballad rendition and production style which showcases Erika’s talented songwriting ability and spell-bounding vocals.
The visual is Erika’s first official video from her upcoming debut EP which will be released independently very soon! This personal and intimate performance takes influence from the theme of the artwork and the white Ferrari testarossa, which was featured in it. Erika’s comments “It’s almost like a live re-enactment of the story. The entire record I felt related so much to cars… to me it sounds like what speeding down a dark road alone feels like, so I’m really glad we got to honor that with the visuals.
When asked about the production and lyrical inspiration behind the acoustic Erika shared, “I think lyrically, “Admit It” is a really powerful record with a deeply vulnerable and honest message, so stripping away its production allows that part of the song to really shine. The original record is sonically really interesting; we used some very unique sounds and instruments, but the piano version of the record turns it into something else entirely and frames it in a totally different light”
“As an artist, everything started for me on the Piano. I taught myself to play and that’s how every song I wrote would start. Nowadays I work a lot more with producers. Brian is not only out of this world talented and the most technically skilled musician I’ve ever met, but he’s also the big bro! Being accompanied by him is such an honor and we had so much fun on set, the simplicity of just vocals with a single piano accompaniment will always hold a special place in my heart.
